Knossos

Visit Knossos a very important city during the antiquity. The palace is built on the hill of Kefala. As they say, it was the base of the wisdom king Minos. Fancinating myths, the Maze with the Minotaur and Daedalus and Icarus, are been connected with the palace of Knossos. The first excavations were done on 1878 by Minoas Kalokairinos who was fron Heraklion. After that, excavations were also done by the English man Sir Arthour Evans (1900-1913 and 1922-1930) and that the whole palace has been discovered.
